Enjoy this holiday and take some time to remember the many great Presidents we have had (let's just focus on the good ones:)
I found a beautiful card created by fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Becky Jensen. Becky used very pretty pastels - Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery - to create her card. I changed up the design and colors to create my Birthday card with this patriotic holiday in mind.
Stamp Sets: Hearts a Flutter; Easy Events
Colors: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Real Red, and Marina Mist
Embossing: Vanilla card stock with Framed Tulips folder; Real Red Core'dinations with Wood Grain; Real Red strip with the Simply Scored Borders Scoring Plate from the Spring catalog (P. 26)
The banners and hearts were created using the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies from the Spring catalog (P. 11). I added the "happy birthday" greeting from the Easy Events stamp set. I tied a bow using hemp twine (which is no longer available, but it needed to be thicker than a bow created using Linen Thread).
Today, I am at sea on the Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas. Tomorrow, we will be arriving in Cozumel, the next day in Grand Cayman, and finally, Jamaica with 11 of my best friends. I am wearing my red, white, and blue sunglasses as we cruise through the warm caribbean air. It is so nice to leave the cold and snow behind for a week. I will return to Montana refreshed and tan on February 23 with lots of wonderful memories.
