The Stampin' Up! 2013-2014 Idea Book and Catalog will be available May 31. Again, Stampin' Up! will WOW you with their new products and techniques. Until then, I will post some of my favorite stamp sets including the hostess set "Summer Afternoon." The two cards shown are created with water coloring.
There are three key products to use when watercoloring. First, order the Stampin' Up! watercolor paper which absorbs water to keep the paper flat for a high-quality finished look ($4.95 Item 122959). Second, StazOn Ink pad ($7.95 Item 101406) is permanent ink for stamping images to watercolor and also works great on nonporous surfaces like window sheets or tiles. Finally, the Aqua Painter which allows you to use the Stampin' Up! ink on your projects (and not as messy as a brush and cup of water - $16.95 for 2 painters: 1 medium brush tip and 1 large brush tip Item 103954).
Actually, there is just one more simple key to water coloring: HAVE FUN! Invite some friends over, mix up a batch of Kool-Aid, add some Oreos and be a kid again. You can even paint outside the lines. There is no exact science to water coloring - just do what makes you happy.
Enjoy!
Janice
